All necessary tests were conducted to confirm the proper operation of the packet core (EPC + HSS) with the GlobalInformService 4G eNodeB (model R18F).

In December 2015, the RCS project was successfully completed on the MTC network. MTS introduced this technology as one of the first in the Russian market and today provides subscribers with the MTS Connect service, which competes with common OTT services such as skype, viber, whataspp (messaging, files exchange, presence service, home tariff roaming calls) using own mobile number as user ID. Through the use of standardized 3gpp architecture, RCS subscribers can make / receive voice calls, including incoming calls from regular landline phones. In the near future, as other operators build a standard architecture, it will be possible to exchange files, messages, presence status and calls with RCS subscribers of other operators.
Within the project the IMS core from Nokia, the RCS server manufactured by Mitel (formerly Mavenir), a software downloadable client from Summit-Tech, was integrated.
CPM Ltd. company acted as a supplier and integrator of RCS servers from Mitel, providing chat, group chat, file sharing, deferred delivery of messages and files services, presence service.
CPM Ltd. became the winner of the Tele2 Russia competition for the supply and integration of universal 2G / 3G / 4G packet core solutions, as well as PCRF and Traffic Optimization System solutions. Within the framework of the project, Cisco (EPC + PCRF) and OpenWave Mobility (TOS) solutions were used.
Osnova Telecom, which builds the federal LTE network, tested the server solution for VoLTE and RCS by the American company Mavenir Systems. In Osnova Telecom, they called this solution alternative and did not exclude the possibility of using it on their network.
Osnova Telecom noted that the product was tested in Moscow on the operator’s own equipment. Its supplier was Mavenir Systems, an American company specializing in the development of software supporting the work of various services based on the LTE network, and the integrator was CPM. “This solution is fully virtualized, which significantly reduces the time and cost of its implementation,” Osnova Telecom representatives believe. “The tests performed showed good results and indicate the potential use of the Mavenir Systems solution.”

As part of the first stage of the tender for the supply of LTE equipment, Osnova Telecom purchased base stations from Alcatel-Lucent, and a network core from Cisco. The company is preparing to open a new stage of the tender next week.

"The company plans to hold a new stage of the tender for the supply of equipment in April," a company spokesman said yesterday. Osnova Telecom initially planned to build LTE networks in 20 cities with a population of 300 thousand to 500 thousand people, and later announced that it intends to reach 40 cities with mobile broadband access networks in LTE standard.
A Cisco spokesperson clarified to ComNews reporter that the products supplied will include elements of a packet core based on Cisco ASR5000 equipment and elements of a transport network based on Cisco ASR 9000, 903 and 901 equipment. The packet core will be located in three cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg and Samara, and the network will be distributed in all subjects of the Russian Federation.
"The project is of strategic importance, its value has not been disclosed," - said a Cisco representative. According to him, the contract for the supply of equipment has already been signed, and the delivery itself will occur approximately within two months. The project is planned to be implemented by the end of the summer.
A representative of Osnova Telecom added that 2,000 contracted base stations would be enough to build networks until mid-summer, in parallel, in the next stages of the tender, the operator will select vendors for further development.
